About Me

About Me

I am licensed in Texas as a professional counselor (LPC) and a marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I am also a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from University of Houston and have done extensive post-graduate training in marriage and family therapy. I have over 30 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings.

I specialize in individual and couples or relationship therapy for adults. I maintain a virtual private practice, using what best fits the needs of any individual client. However, I would say that I am most often drawn to cognitive-behavioral and family systems frameworks. I help clients examine how their thoughts influence feelings and behavior. I also work to identify the interactional family and relationship patterns that form the background of difficulties.

About Catherine Casey

I have in recent years done extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. This approach helps to identify underlying needs and emotions that drive the disconnection in relationships. I also believe strongly in the mind-body connection and have helped many clients move toward practices which create more balance and reduce stress in daily living. Using complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will work together to shift old patterns of behavior and interaction and build on your strengths to help you achieve your goals.
